History
Faculty of Engineering Sriracha
was established for expanding educational opportunities and supporting the development of economic zones in the eastern seaboard area. With a focus on producing graduates and developing engineering workforce in various fields. As well as studying, researching and providing academic services for supporting industrial development operations.The history timelines are shown as below:
In 1996,
it was approved in principle to include in the tertiary education development plan, phase 7 as a “Community College”. In 1997,
it was opened for the admission of the first two bachelor degrees, i.e., electrical and industrial engineering. In 1998,
the department of computer engineering was established. In 1999,
the Community College was approved to be the “Faculty of Industrial Technology” by Kasetsart University Council. In 2000,
the name of the faculty was changed to “Faculty of Engineering at Sriracha” and two departments was introduced, i.e., mechanical engineering, and naval architecture and marine engineering. In 2006,
the department of naval architecture and marine engineering was managed by the International Maritime College. In 2009,
a master degree of engineering management (special program) was introduced. In 2011,
a master degree of electrical engineering was introduced. In 2013,
a bachelor degree of civil engineering and a master degree of mechanical and design engineering were introduced.
