Head of research unit, Asst.Prof.Dr. Chaiwat Numthong
Description
The “Industrial and Production Management Research Unit” was supported and funded by the Faculty of Engineering at Sriracha, Kasetsart University Sriracha Campus. The research group composes of two major research units, which are 1) the “Productivity Improvement and Logistics Management Research Unit”and 2) the “Integrated Design and Manufacturing Systems Research Unit”. The research group has the cooperation with the industrial, government and community sector.
The “Productivity Improvement and Logistics Management Research Unit” focuses on the study, research and academic service on the production planning and control, logistics and supply chain management, quality and production improvement and other specialized problems of industrial engineering. The statistics approaches, qualitative and quantitative methods, applied optimization techniques, simulation techniques and work improvement techniques are utilized to solve the problems.
The “Integrated Design and Manufacturing Systems Research Unit” focuses to contribute the integrated knowledge in design and manufacturing systems research, including engineering design methodology, product design and development, computer aided design and process planning, rapid prototyping, automation in manufacturing, and modern production systems.
The research group aims to mainly support the academics, organizations, and industries for examples, automotive industry, electronics industry and aerospace industry, which are located in the Eastern region of Thailand.
