Executive of Kasetsart University Sriracha Campus with EEC representatives met with the Mayor of Pattaya to present and discuss opinions and policies of demonstration project of the complete use of electric transportation in the EEC area (Pattaya City)
Dr. Chaiwat Klampol, Assistant to the President for Strategic Development of Eastern Special Development Zone, Kasetsart University Sriracha Campus together with Associate Professor Dr. Sathaporn Chuepheng, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Sriracha, Assistant Professor Dr. Uten Supatti, Associate Dean for Research and Innovation, and Professor Natthaphon Bunyaphakdee, Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Sriracha traveled to meet Mr. Sonthaya Khunpluem, Mayor of Pattaya City, Chairman of the meeting to present a demonstration project for the use of electric vehicles as a complete public transport system in the EEC (Pattaya City) area (Korea-Thailand Eco-Friendly E-TukTuk in Pattaya) and propose the development of a public transport platform using electric vehicles for cities in the EEC area, listening to the demand, opinion and support policy to adapt to the needs of Pattaya. With the management team of Pattaya City and the heads of relevant government agencies which also attended the meeting at Meeting Room 131, Pattaya City Hall.
Faculty of Engineering at Sriracha has cooperated with the Republic of Korea (South Korea) to carry out the demonstration project to create a demonstration system: Public transport by electric vehicles, public vehicle management system, charging system, energy storage system, energy management system and centralized monitoring control system. This is to make Pattaya City as a model city for efficient, clean, non-polluting and sustainable public transport. It also supports Pattaya as a completely smart city. By bringing the tuktuk and transportation systems to use environmentally friendly solar energy to replace fuels. To facilitate the people and tourists in this matter, the Prime Minister of Pattaya suggested to the Faculty of Engineering at Sriracha, Kasetsart University Sriracha Campus and the Thai Electric Vehicle Association return to study the impact on the former entrepreneurs who work in the area as well. Including suggesting the establishment of a committee by inviting the city of Pattaya to participate in presenting information that will be useful for the implementation of the project further.
For those who participated in the demonstration project from other agencies, it consisted of Dr. Thongchai Chinapan, representative from the Thai Electric Vehicle Association, Mr. Narawat Adam, the representative from the Ministry of Industry, Mr. Montri Ruengsinghi, the representative from the Development Project, Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
